Position Summary

Health Information Services - Records Administrator

Part Time/Full Time up to 38 Hours per week

 

Colac Area Health is a values based organisation providing a unique integrated health service comprising of over 500 employees, providing Acute Care, Aged Care, Community and Allied Health Services.

 

We are seeking a Health Information Services Records Administrator to support our health information management improvement processes.  

 

Working with the Health Information Services team and the Family and Community Programs team, the Records Administrator is responsible for the archiving of non-current patient records and transitioning current records to the TrakCare unit record numbering and filing system.  This position updates all relevant databases with a high level of accuracy, and and communicates effectively to support stakeholders with using the new filing processes.

 

This is a fixed/temporary position, and depending on availability, is offered at either part time or full time hours, and job share will be considered.

 

What’s required? 

Essential:

  • Previous clerical/administration experience
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • High level attention to detail and problem solving ability
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work unsupervised
  • Ability to work well with stakeholders at all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality

Desirable:

  • Experience working in Health Information Services or other Health administration related position
  • Knowledge of patient medical records
  • Understanding of the Privacy Principles and the Health Records Act
  • Knowledge of patient administration systems
