Position Summary

The Orange Door Barwon Colac Access Point – Support Officer

Full Time - Temporary Position 6 months

classification determined on qualification and experience 

 

Colac Area Health is a values based organisation providing a unique integrated health service comprising of over 500 employees, providing Acute Care, Aged Care, Community and Allied Health Services.

 

The role includes the initial risk screening and information collection to support intake and triaging of referrals that enter The Orange Door Barwon Colac Access Point (TOD Colac Access Point) to ensure all clients needs are assessed and clients pathways are developed and supported.

The role works closely with the TOD Colac Access Point team to identify and link clients with the appropriate range of services. The role supports administration task completion including data collection and program development.

 

What’s required? 

  • Qualification and/or experience in administration, welfare or other relevant community services.
  • Proven experience in establishing working relationships with stakeholders, clients and other service providers.
  • Effective communication skills including ability to respond sensitively and effectively to clients presenting difficult behaviours; is able to apply active listening skills and implement de-escalation strategies.
  • Experience in providing high quality, supportive and effective service delivery including the ability to provide accurate and up-to-date information to clients and stakeholders.
  • Able to quickly identify options and reach an informed conclusion; actively seeks out solutions and pathways to improve client outcomes and service experience.
  • Demonstrates competent administration and organisational skills, including database entry and records maintenance.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with people at all levels.
  • Cooperates and works well with others in pursuit of team goals.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications.
  • A current Working with Children Check (WWCC) card.
  • Clear national police check.
  • Experience working from a child centred approach, and more broadly working with vulnerable people in a service delivery environment
