Position Summary

ENTRY TO URGENT CARE PROGRAM

 

  • Program to commence in January 2024
  • Six month program inclusive of six paid study days
  • On completion of this program successful applicants will be expected to have successfully completed advanced life support

Topics covered include:

  • Chest pain management
  • Fast track
  • Respiratory emergencies assessment and management
  • Oxygen delivery devices
  • Abdominal emergencies assessment and management
  • Neurological emergencies assessment and management
  • Clinical deterioration
  • Toxicology
  • Blood gas interpretation
  • Diabetic emergencies and management
  • Introduction to trauma
  • Sepsis management
  • Paediatric emergencies assessment and management
  • Procedural sedation
  • Mental health in the emergency department
  • ADO in the emergency department
  • Obstetrics and genealogical emergencies
  • ECG interpretation and rhythm recognition
  • Advanced life support two day course

What’s required? 

  • Completion of graduate year or equivalent
  • Ability to organise work in a systematic, accurate and timely manner and be flexible in a changing environment.
  • Demonstrate skills in teamwork and leadership.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Ability to work all shifts including nights and weekend
